'Priests in Ancient Egypt' Lecture

21 October 2026 · 18:30

Centre Cívic Navas, Navas, Sant Andreu

Egypt is the oldest state in the world. Setting it in motion required an educated elite of officials, scribes and priests. The priests were ritual experts, and there were many kinds: specialists in the funerary cult, others expert in magic, physicians… Their appearance had to reflect the purity of their soul: completely hairless, dressed in immaculate white and with impeccable standards of hygiene. Led by Isabel García Trócoli, graduate in Ancient History and Archaeology from the UB and holder of a master's in Egyptology.

Part of the programme: Ancient Egypt Series. Cicle de l'antic Egipte: 4 activities in Barcelona, from September 9 to December 2. All free.
