In 2026, fifty years since the death of Agatha Christie are being commemorated. She was one of the most influential authors in the history of mystery fiction. To mark the anniversary, this autumn we will devote a series to exploring the evolution of crime fiction, from the classic puzzles Christie made a benchmark to reinterpretations by contemporary women writers. We will discover how they have made Christie's legacy their own, transforming its rules, settings and characters to also speak about today's world without losing the pleasure of mystery or the essence of the genre. (Booket/Edicions 62). Her work represents the paradigm of classic detective fiction: precise architecture of intrigue, mastery of isolation and a “closed game” between writer and reader. Mystery is not merely intellectual entertainment but a structure demanding order, causality and resolution. And Then There Were None, considered one of the genre's masterpieces, is perhaps its most paradigmatic example: a masterful game of appearances, secrets and guilt that has influenced generations of writers.
