Mercat Tres Torres, les Tres Torres, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi

To mark World Architecture Day and as part of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture, we want to turn Barcelona into a large pop-up exhibition of architectural models spread across all the shops in the city that have signed up. The aim is to bring architecture closer to the public through local shops, temporarily turning shop windows or counters into small exhibition spaces each hosting an architectural model. For architecture firms and architects, it is an important way to reach out to local residents, raise their profile and show their work. The initiative brings together two exceptional celebrations: Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture and the European Capital of Local Commerce. Several of the city's markets are joining the exhibition: Mercat de Santa Caterina Project: Restoration of the Mercat de Santa Caterina and housing for older people. Architecture firm: Miralles Tagliabue – EMBT Architects Mercat de La Concepció Project: Mercat de la Concepció. Architecture firm: Pinearq Mercat de la Sagrada Família Projects: Subsidised housing in Sant Boi and a rural hotel in a bamboo forest in Sichuan (China). Architecture firm: Flexo Arquitectura Mercat de l'Estrella…
