La Casa de l'Aigua, la Trinitat Nova, Nou Barris

The Museu d'Història de Barcelona is opening a new permanent exhibition to the public in the reservoir at the Casa de l'Aigua de la Trinitat Nova, Barcelona: Water, Climate and City, which includes a significant selection from the Col·lecció Ròmul Gavarró. Barcelona: Water, Climate and City looks back to show how climate fluctuations and environmental conditions are closely linked to the water cycle. It shows how, from the Industrial Revolution onwards and especially with the use of fossil fuels, traditional methods of water supply and management were disrupted. Although this change was linked to a period of progress and well-being, it also contributed to today's serious climate and environmental challenges. The Col·lecció Ròmul Gavarró is one of the country's most important collections of objects related to obtaining, distributing, consuming and using water. A large part of the collection is displayed as a visible reserve, a store open to the public with inventoried objects grouped together and carefully preserved. The Casa de l'Aigua is a key heritage site for explaining the history of Barcelona's water supply. It comprises the pumping station in the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood…
