Mercat Guineueta, la Guineueta, Nou Barris
As part of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture, Elisava presents six temporary urban interventions that call for imagining new forms of coexistence on a wounded planet. "Parada Parada" is an art installation in an empty market stall and a route-activation around the Guineueta market. By recovering stories and archives, and in dialogue with texts by experts and artists, the route will explore different themes running through the market: the market as a bond, the market as a neighbourhood, the market as infrastructure and the market as the future. Passing through the area around the market and places not normally open to the public, the route will end at "Parada Parada", which, by hacking the in/activity of a market stall, will explore the potential of crossing art, archives and public architecture to think of other ways of relating to and telling our story as a community. A project directed and conceived by Julia C. Parodi (Elisava Research) and Elsa Casanova Sampé. With the participation of Oblicuas and Aina Canyelles, and contributions from Mattia De Vito, Miguel Parra, Helena Grande and Sofía Lifszyc.
