The Study-Library is the room where Frederic Marès, as director of the Museu, had his office and received visitors. He kept his library there, along with personal objects, honours and awards, historical documentation on his collections and the Museu, and part of his own sculptural work, which he donated to the city of Barcelona in 1988. This distinctive, lived-in space was designed specifically for him in 1964 and did not open to visitors until 1996, five years after his death.
