"Vieux Farka Touré" Concert

Vieux Farka Touré, the Hendrix of the Sahara, has turned the guitar into a bridge between Mali's musical tradition and new sonic territories. On 28 October he comes to Teatre l'Aliança del Poblenou with a proposal connecting Malian rhythms with blues, rock and influences from other cultures. Son of the legendary Ali Farka Touré, one of the great figures of desert blues, Vieux has built a language of his own that has made him one of the most prominent guitarists on today's African scene. Known as the “Hendrix of the Sahara”, he has collaborated with artists such as Dave Matthews, John Scofield and Khruangbin, with whom he released Ali (2022), a tribute to his father. With music and a live show that keep his connection to his roots alive while continuing to explore new paths, Vieux Farka Touré brings to the stage the force of a guitar poised between tradition and experimentation.
