'Middle East, Laboratory of the New World Order' Conference

The Middle East is not just one conflict among others: it is the mirror reflecting the true state of the world. Through the genocide in Gaza and the war in Iran, this conference proposes reading the region as a laboratory in which the world is moving from a rules-based international order towards one governed by the law of the strongest. We will analyse how international law has been emptied of substance, why impunity has become normalised, and what all of this tells us about the global order governing us all. Led by Moussa Bourekba, senior researcher at CIDOB and associate lecturer in International Relations at the Facultat de Blanquerna and the Facultat de Dret de la Universitat de Barcelona.
