Barcelona Flashback. A Historical Synthesis is the core exhibition in the network of spaces making up the MUHBA, located at Casa Padellàs, with a flexible, open and questioning approach to Barcelona's urban narratives. It is a synthesis exhibition presenting Barcelona's two-thousand-year history through an interrogative method of historical reading applied to documents, objects, architecture and landscapes. At the same time, it is an international research project into the minimum toolkit of urban knowledge and representation required to exercise the right to the city. The exhibition is based on the MUHBA collections and is the starting point for the Museu's 55 rooms across its 19 sites distributed throughout Barcelona. Visitors enter through the mirror, as in Alice's dream imagined by Lewis Carroll, and can leave through the tunnel of time. With this exhibition, the MUHBA joins European city museums taking on the challenge of offering a high-quality synthesis and presenting the metropolis through questions in no more than 90 minutes.
