What to do in Diagonal Mar
Diagonal Mar is where the Diagonal ends and the sea begins. It was finished for the 2004 Fòrum, and the big things date from then: Enric Miralles's park, designed around water, and an esplanade large enough for the festivals that fit nowhere else. If you have a few hours, the quietest beaches in the city are here.
At Waltru, Diagonal Mar is an extended area reaching the Fòrum grounds: it covers Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim del Poblenou and el Besòs i el Maresme, which is where the grounds are.

From the 2004 Fòrum to today's seafront, in three steps.
It was finished for the 2004 Fòrum de les Cultures, the second big event to reorder the seafront after 1992.
Diagonal Mar park, by Enric Miralles, is one of the city's largest and is built around water.
